Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso says a heavily decomposed body was found Wednesday night near the Twin Boroughs Recycling Center in East Stroudsburg. Mancuso says the remains were found in the woods near a homeless camp and he's calling the circumstances suspicious. An autopsy on the body is pending.

Pennsylvania's unemployment rate in the month of August was 3.5-percent, remaining unchanged from July's number. That 3.5-percent figure is eight-tenths-of-a-point below the August 2022 number of 4.3-percent.

The idea of the state finding new ways to pay for education funding has some lawmakers talking about tax increases or perhaps tapping into the Rainy Day Fund. The potential scenarios were tossed around at a meeting this week of the state's Basic Education Funding Commission. State experts have said six-billion-dollars more is needed for adequacy funding statewide. One lawmaker speculated that increasing the state personal income tax rate from 3.07 percent to 4.07 percent would generate about $4 billion.

Johnson & Johnson is rebranding its more than 130 year old logo. The New Jersey-based pharmaceutical company has swapped out its signature red, cursive lettering for block letters that are a darker red color. The original logo was taken from the signature of Johnson & Johnson co-founder James Wood Johnson, but the company says the change is meant to call attention to its focus on innovative medicine. The new logo will be rolled out gradually across product packaging and brands.
