The U.S. Postal Service will transfer outgoing mail processing operations from the Lehigh Valley Processing and Distribution Center in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, to the Harrisburg Processing and Distribution Center. However, the postal service says it will invest $11 million into its Lehigh Valley facility, which is being converted into a local processing center, for what it calls modernization and deferred maintenance. The postal service says there will be no layoffs.

We're being told at least one person is dead after a Friday incident in East Greenville, Montgomery County. Police there locked down a road Friday morning in the area of Second and Jefferson streets for what was being called a dangerous situation. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office was called to the scene just before noon Friday. No further details are available.

The Lehigh Valley could be getting a new convenience store option. Rutter's, which primarily focuses its attention on Central Pennsylvania will appear Tuesday before the Palmer Township Planning Commission. Rutter's reportedly has an interest in building a brand new store in the Chrin Commerce Center on Main Street. That complex already is home to a Sheetz convenience store.

Accu-Weather's Joe Lundberg says we'll be dry until probably after lunch today, but after that, get ready for a soaking. "Rain could be heavy at times into tonight," Lundberg says. Lundberg thinks we could get an inch-and-a-half of rain Saturday afternoon into Saturday night.

Pennsylvania's January unemployment rate stayed flat at 3.4%. While that number was level with December's, it was four-tenths of a point below its January 2023 level of 3.8%.

Daylight saving time officially takes effect this weekend. That means prior to going to bed Saturday night, you'll need to set your clocks ahead one hour. Officially Daylight saving time begins at 2am Sunday morning.
